I got these binoculars for viewing wildlife from a distant. I was disappointed in them because they didn't magnify the image good. They would be good for bird watching. I ended up returning them and investing in a zoom lense.

I use binoculars/spotting scopes for bird or wildlife watching a lot but I cannot say I am an expert so keep this in mind. Also, I have only used this with the eye-cups set for someone like me who uses eyeglasses.

br /I have purchased these a few weeks ago and I have already used them many times while hiking. They are lightweight and the strap feels solid and secure. The quality of the optics is very good and brightness with the 8x42 was very good as well. I also like the rubber coating which will add durability and improves hand grip. I like the front and back lens covers, which adds peace of mind when I have the binocular in my backpack, although I have to say that I still find them a bit cumbersome. Maybe with time I will get used to them.

br /The one not-too-minor thing that I don't particularly like is that after a few weeks of use I still have some difficulties with positioning the binocular in front of my eyeglasses. I often have to struggle to optimize the binocular vision and blind areas keep invading my vision field. Previously I was using an average-quality Olympus 8x42 binocular and I was finding that one easier to use. But perhaps I just need more time and overall I am happy with this product and would most likely purchase it again.

br /As an aside, I purchased this binocular from Adorama (through Amazon) and as in all my previous dealings with them their service was extremely fast, even with the cheapest shipping option.

I bought these binoculars as a midway purchase between the $100 cheapies and the $1000 professional binoculars. The only difference I can note so far between these and the $100 cheapies is these are lighter. The view is no better or larger. Also the eyepiece cover does not fit well onto the two eye lenses and so it comes off when the binoculars are stored in the case. The binoculars have an adjustment for eyeglasses wearers but I have not found it useful when wearing my glasses and using the binoculars. I have to take my glasses off to use the binoculars comfortably. In the Amazon.com product picture the binoculars appear to be large but they were actually much smaller than I expected. I would not pay what I did for these binoculars again. Hope this review helped...

The bincoulars are clear and light weight. The quality is apparent and the focus and brightness are great for the cost. The only thing I don't particularly like is the lens covers. The front and rear lens covers are a problem. They do not fit securely to the bioculars. The front covers come off the binoculars when they are removed from the case. Also the carrying case secures with velcro which is extremely loud when unfastened which is not conducive to a hunting environment. These issues are mainly with the binocular accessories not the actual binoculars themselves. The function of bringing objects to closer view with extreme clarity and brightnes is superb. I have only had them for about a month so I can't attest to their durabiltiy, but the warranty they come with speaks volumes for the manufacturer's confidence in their workmanship.
